Self-Taught & Visionary Art in New Zealand

Ranging in scale from monumental to miniature, there is a whimsy in the work, and often a child-friendliness.

Often created for display in the outdoors, there is a sense of craftsmanship and permanence present in the work. The artists in this category are predominately male, including a number of retired tradesmen. These artists have a passion for recycling of materials and the environment.
