Self-Taught & Visionary Art in New Zealand

Doddy Hohepa
Moerewa

Clever use of recycled materials. The figures are always male and always belong to a particular trade or identity and are finished with appropriate props. The use of materials possibly reflect both the small, rural, town setting of the artist, and the available access to such materials (such as sacking from bulk feed and scrap metal).
